What the law says

Unlicensed gaming (NRS 463.160 via 463.360(3)) is a category B felony: 1-10 years, fine up to $50,000, plus mandatory disgorgement of all profits to the State General Fund. Accepting wagers from persons physically in Nevada through any medium of communication (NRS 465.092) is a gross misdemeanor with disgorgement, and explicitly reaches out-of-state operators, who are deemed to consummate the offense within Nevada.

Nevada questions

Are sweepstakes casinos legal in Nevada?

State law prohibits dual-currency sweepstakes casinos here. Authority: Nev. Rev. Stat. §§ 463.160/463.360, 465.088, 465.092, as amended by SB 256 (2025, eff. 2025-10-01).

Can I still play free Gold Coin (GC) games in Nevada?

Nevada's action targets the dual-currency model: the Sweeps Coin (SC) side that can be redeemed for cash prizes. Free Gold Coin (GC) entertainment play, with no prize redemption, is generally not what these provisions prohibit. But many operators exclude Nevada entirely in their own terms rather than offer a GC-only mode.
