What the law says

Operating, placing into operation, or promoting a sweepstakes conducted through an entertaining display on an electronic machine or device is a Class 1 misdemeanor for a first offense, a Class H felony for a second, and a Class G felony for a third or subsequent offense (G.S. 14-306.4).
